About Whitmore Lake, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Whitmore Lake is an unincorporated Michigan community that spans the boundaries between Washtenaw County’s Northfield Township and Livingston County’s Green Oak Township. Although the community is only a census-designated place, it is home to almost 6,500 residents. Whitmore Lake is situated about nine miles outside of Ann Arbor, and it is about the same distance south of Brighton. Not surprisingly, the community is located along the shores of Whitmore Lake, and both were named for Luke H. Whitmore, a local land owner living in the area around 1825.

In addition to the water activities available on the lake, there are a few popular attractions and areas of interest located at Whitmore Lake. Golf fans might enjoy playing a round or getting a drink at the Links at Whitmore Lake, while families with young children might like to spend a hot summer afternoon at Blue Heron Bay Splash Park. In addition to these attractions, Whitmore Lake is also known for hosting a weekend-long Independence Day celebration, featuring fireworks, a boat parade, a ski show, and boat parade, among other events.

Whitmore Lake is part of a typical Midwestern humid continental climate. It is greatly influenced by the Great Lakes, leading to cold and snowy winter months. Each year, the community receives an average of about 58 inches of snow, and when combined with subzero temperatures, conditions can become dangerous both indoors and outdoors. Residents will need to invest in a reliable heat pump or furnace system to stay safe throughout the season.

Weather conditions are a different story during the summer. High temperatures usually reach the mid-80s, and conditions are humid. This can be a difficult time for allergy-sufferers, but the right air conditioning system can help. Not only will these units keep indoor temperatures cool, but they can also improve the quality of circulating air.
